Description

Carmelo Arden Quin co-founded with Gyula Kosice the Madí group in Buenos Aires in 1946. In Jaune-Bleu, the artist explores essential aspects of Madí: the polygonal frame echoes the forms depicted, balancing an economy of means with a playful approach to geometry. The motif of lines and points on a white surface recurs in many wood panels produced by Arden Quin in the early 1950s.
