Description

The youth on left holds a strigil, a tool used to scrape off dirt and sweat from the body, while the man on the right leans on the forked staff of a trainer. Represented on the outside of the cup are nude athletes exercising in the presence of clothed trainers on each side. The nudity indicates that the men are in the gymnasium. Notice the different ways the round discus is held by three of the athletes.
